Cocoa Banana Smoothie

Serves 2 


1 cup organic, unsweetened soymilk (or can use other unsweetened non-dairy milks such as unsweetned almond or cashew milk)
2 small bananas, cut into slices and frozen
2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 Tbsp oat bran


Combine all ingredients in a blender.  Blend into a smoothie of desired consistency. 

Please note...

  • The banana slices should be frozen at least a day ahead of time.  Frozen banana slices are hard, so be patient with your blender!  You might have to stop it a couple of times and shift the ingredients around. 
  • The amount of soymilk or banana can be adjusted - use more banana, or less soymilk, for a thicker smoothie. 
  • Adjust the amount of oat bran and cocoa powder to your taste and tolerance. 
  • If just begining to add more fiber into the diet, may need to try smaller portions of oat bran and/or add water to make smoothie a thinner consistency.
