Diabetes Sick Day Rules and Testing for Ketones

Being sick or ill could mean simply not feeling well (common cold), being very sick (fever/vomiting), infection (strep throat, etc.), surgical procedures (wisdom teeth extraction), or serious injuries (broken bones, etc.).  

The following videos provide diabetes sick day guidelines and explain when and how to check for ketones to avoid diabetic ketoacidosis (D.K.A.).
