Blood Glucose (Blood Sugar) Monitoring and Testing

How Often to Test

Blood sugar levels will be checked at least 4 times each day: before breakfast, before lunch, before dinner, before bedtime snack (even if not eating a meal).

Target Range

Your diabetes care team will let you know the optimal blood sugar range for your child.  Our goal is to keep their blood sugar within target range 75-80% of the time.

Keeping a Record

Blood sugar logs must be checked regularly to see if changes need to made in your child's diabetes care plan.
