UMass Diabetes Center of Excellence in the Community

  

 

   

Walk for Barton: Diabetes Camps & Youth Programming: Dr. David Harlan, Dr. Amanda Angelescu and members of the UMass Diabetes Center of Excellent care team & staff participated in this first annual fundraiser for the Barton Center of Diabetes Education. 

JDRF Central MA Walk: Dr. Leslie Soyka, Dr. Penny Feldman, nurse Kim Johnson and social worker Diane Bowes-Hudson represented the UMass Memorial pediatric diabetes care team, joining many of our patients and their families.

Boston ADA Walk to Stop Diabetes: We provided diabetes information and resources to participants and families on the Boston Common.

Celebrity Wiffle Ball at Joslin Diabetes Camp: Diabetes Center of Excellence researcher Michael Brehm, PhD (Boston Strong shirt) and clinical research assistant Dan O'Brien (purple shirt) played on a team with Worcester area radio and TV personalities. Campers, all living with type 1 diabetes (T1D), rooted for their staff, but also cheered Dr. Brehm, who also lives with T1D.
