In the Spotlight - Kevin Reynolds

Kevin Reynolds Radiology Clinical Quality ManagerKevin Reynolds, MHA, RT(R,CT), joined the Department of Radiology as  Clinical Quality Manager in early January, 2017.

Kevin’s educational background includes an MHA – Master of Health Administration/Public Health from Regis College, a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences/Administration from Worcester State University and an Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology from Quinsigamond Community College.

Kevin began his career at UMass as a Radiologic Technologist, he left here and moved to Boston and worked at Beth Israel Hospital, then Beth Israel Deaconess as CT and 3D Technologist, followed by Mount Auburn Hospital as Manager of Cross-Sectional Imaging (CT/MRI/Radiation Therapy/3D Lab).

Most recently Mr. Reynolds was at Memorial Hospital/Care New England as the Administrative Director of Ancillary Services (Radiology, Respiratory, PT/OT/Speech), Administrative Directory of Ambulatory Services (all Outpatient Care/Service lines).

When asked what attracted him to UMass Kevin stated “The Staff I would be working with and the System’s commitment to quality in  both clinical care and education.”

Kevin has been in the healthcare profession for 28 years. In high school he enrolled  in a summer internship program at UMass, where he was exposed to the hospital and healthcare. He worked on the Orthopedic/Trauma units and very much enjoyed working with the Nurses, Physicians, Therapists and Techs caring for patients. After coming into Radiology with a patient he immediately wanted to know more about the field.

CT & Advanced imaging, public health and healthcare policy are special interests. Kevin held the appointment of Professor at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health and Suffolk University teaching in the Medical Imaging/Therapy programs. He taught cross-sectional anatomy, CT Pathology, and CT Physics.  

Kevin’s personal interests include food & wine, cooking, travel, Boston sports teams, photography, landscape/gardening. When asked about family he says “I am single, but I come from a large Irish Catholic Family with six siblings and many nieces and nephews.”

“I look forward to working with everyone in Radiology to improve both the quality and efficiency of our services” states Kevin.
