Graduating Medical Student Kylie Long Thanks Radiology
Graduating medical student Kylie Long included thanks for the department of radiology in a recent blog titled "a love letter to my medical school."
An exerpt from Dr. Long's blog, May 23, 2026.
"And somewhere quietly within all of this, I found radiology. Or maybe more honestly, radiology found me. And for that, I will always be grateful to the UMass’s Department of Radiology, a place that did far more than teach me imaging or diagnostics. They raised me. They showed me the kind of soul radiologists carry: thoughtful, observant, quietly compassionate people who care deeply not only about patients, but about one another. In their reading rooms, I learned that some of the most profound forms of care happen quietly. Through attentiveness. Through teaching. Through kindness. Through people who stayed late to teach, checked in when I was struggling, and made me feel seen long before I ever dreamed of calling myself a radiologist. Somewhere within their warmth, generosity, and humanity, I realized I had found home."
Kylie Long, MD graduated on May 31, 2026 from T.H. Chan School of Medicine, UMass Chan Medical School. Her blog "unsutured thoughts" is The open diary of a student doctor - a collection of thoughts, musings, and magic moments in medicine.
