Three retirement celebrations were held recently for departing faculty and staff. We wish them well in their next adventures.

Sue MacMaster, MD - Department of Radiology, UMass Chan Medical SchoolSue MacMaster, MD

A celebration with cake was held for Sue MacMaster, MD on December 27. Dr. MacMaster joined the department as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 1997. She was in the Division of Breast Imaging, the longest serving faculty member in the Division and was a repository for the history of the division. During Dr. MacMasters first position at UMMS, in 1984, she completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Radiology. Then returned to Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's, NL where she was on faculty until she joined the UMass Faculty. Her colleagues say she is “delightful person with a great sense of humor.” Dr. MacMaster is an international traveler, well informed on world affairs and different cultures. She is extremely fond of treks and hikes and is looking forward to her retirement and plans to travel. “A great mentor and guide to the junior faculty who will be sorely missed.” Best wishes Sue!

Professor Anne Gilroy retired on January 12. Fellow members from the Division of Translational Anatomy along with faculty co-directors for the DSF course gave her a small send-off on her last day.
