Welcome Randa Mowlood to the Department Administrative Team

 We are pleased to introduce Randa Mowlood as the new Group Practice  Administrator for the Department of Radiology.  Randa began working with us mid-  December and is the successor of Sharon Sambito.  Sharon retired last month after  being with our Department for 8 years. 

 Randa previously worked for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston as  the Ambulatory Director of Operations for the Hematology/Oncology Division.  There, she was responsible for the physician practice as well as the operations of  the hematology/oncology, hematological malignancies/bone marrow transplant, and  pheresis units. 

 Randa attributes her smooth transition into the UMass Radiology Department to Sharon’s wealth of knowledge and support.  She is looking forward to working with Dr. Max Rosen, the chiefs, the radiologists, the group practice staff and the operations team.  Randa was originally attracted to this program due to the “great reputation” of UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Chan Medical School and wants to continue to honor that reputation.  One of her short term goals is to get up to speed with the Department and to begin contributing to the growth of safe, high quality, and efficient patient care. 

When asked why she wanted to go into the health care field, Randa said, “When I was little, my grandmother fell from the attic, broke her neck and became paralyzed.  After a few years of physical therapy, she was able to walk short distances with a walker. She and the physical therapist inspired me and made me want to go into healthcare.”

We are elated to have Randa here at UMass.  She will be a fantastic addition to the Department of Radiology!
