Build A Bed Team
A team from Radiology participated in a Build a Bed project along with other teams from UMass Chan. The event was part of the Doctor's Day celebration week at UMass Chan. The "Supporting Sprouts: Build a Bed Volunteer Event" was held at UMass Chan Medical School on Tuesday, 3/26/2024.
Participants from the Department of Radiology included: Christine Yao, MD (1st Year radiology resident); Vaibhav Jain, MBBS (Neuro Fellow); Debajyoti Saha, MBBS (MSK Fellow); Zeynep Vardar, MD (Abdominal Fellow); George (Chip) Watts, MD (Vice Chair of Education); Tejas Mehta, MD (Vice Chair of DEI & Faculty Engagement).
The event was organized in conjunction with the organization "A Bed For Every Child" https://www.abedforeverychild.org/. Their mission statement from the website is included below.
Our Mission
A Bed for Every Child's mission is to provide children in need in Massachusetts with safe and comfortable beds. We believe that every child deserves a place to rest and dream big. Our organization works to address the critical issue of children not having access to proper sleeping arrangements and aims to improve children's well-being, growth, and ability to thrive, particularly in the classroom, by ensuring they have a bed to sleep in.
