Elective Description: This elective is designed to introduce the student to acquiring basic skills in both electrocardiography and clinical cardiology which will be supplemented with the regularly scheduled didactic cardiology sessions. During this rotation, the student will participate in daily rounds in the Coronary Care Unit and on the medical floors where he/she will be assigned patients to work up and follow under the supervision of the Director of Cardiology. The student will also be involved in the non-invasive cardiac laboratory where he/she will be introduced to the various non-invasive techniques of electrocardiography, Holter monitoring, stress testing and echocardiography. An opportunity will also be given to observe in the cardiac catherization laboratory. 
Note: Room and board are provided free of charge to medical students. There will be an opportunity to observe the invasive lab.
