American Psychiatric Association features a Documentary about SPARC and our major partnerships with state agencies and people with lived experience to design, conduct, and disseminate our research
Date Posted: Thursday, May 18, 2017The Systems and Psychosocial Advances Research Center (SPARC) was approached by the APA (American Psychiatric Association) for development of a documentary video that would reflect the APA’s theme this year; Partnership. In that spirit, we worked with our major partner (Massachusetts Department of Mental Health), and the APA’s contracted documentary filmmaker (WebsEdge Ltd.), to develop a documentary about SPARC and our major partnerships with state agencies (e.g. DMH) and with people with lived experience to design, conduct, and disseminate our research so that it has greater impact on its intended audiences. We are grateful for Commissioner Mikula’s generous time and words, and for the same from the program and young adults at YouForward in Lawrence (a DMH drop-in center for youth and young adults). We are excited about the results and wanted to share it with you. This documentary will be shown at the APA meeting, May 20th in San Diego, and will be posted on their website for 12 months (www.psych.org).
