I truly wish I had a more profound way to express how incredible our Radiology team at UMass has been this year-once again. The effort, heart, and dedication that each of you brings every day is remarkable, and this holiday season with the "Giving Tree Project" was no exception.
Our participation in supporting the children of MSPCC was nothing short of extraordinary. MSPCC currently has 216 children working within their system, and because of your generosity, we were able to provide 124 of those children with a magical holiday surprise. Lisa, the Director at MSPCC, was brought to tears many times as she sorted through the donated gifts. While the generosity itself was astounding, what impacted her most was the obvious thought and care that went into each gift.
She shared that “these children were not just donated to - they were chosen, thought about, and shopped for, and that really showed.” That statement speaks volumes about who you are, not just as healthcare professionals, but as people.
The compassion, teamwork, and commitment you show-both in the care of our patients and in the way you helped to support the community-make me incredibly proud to work alongside you. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in the lives of these children and for continuing to demonstrate what an amazing team Radiology at UMass truly is.
The holidays were definitely made special for these kids, all because of you! - thank YOU!

It’s that time of year again!- and we are so excited to invite you to join us in the Third Annual Radiology Giving Tree Project! 🌲
Our Giving Trees and wish-list tags have been placed throughout the University Campus, and festive flyers (see below) are hanging nearby to make participating simple and joyful. Each flyer includes a QR code - (simply open your phone’s camera, tap the link that pops up, and you’ll be taken directly to an Amazon list filled with wishes from children who need a little extra magic this season).
With just a few clicks, you can choose a gift that can be shipped right to the center. Every single item on that list represents a real child’s hope - and your generosity can turn that hope into joy.
These gifts do more than fill a need.
They create a moment of hope.
A reminder that kindness is real and still exists.
A feeling — for a child living in uncertainty — that they matter and they are seen.
For many of these children, the Giving Tree gifts may provide the only gifts they receive this season. Your thoughtfulness brings warmth, comfort, and a spark of holiday magic during a time that can be incredibly difficult for them.
