Elective Description: This one month rotation will provide the student an opportunity for direct patient care in an area of acute medicine which also allows for ample experience in practical skills including IV placement and airway control.  Understanding the medical management of the patient during the perioperative period is emphasized. An excellent opportunity to explore the possibility of residency training in a very exciting and challenging field.

In addition to the University experience, students will spend time at (not may choose to) Hahnemann Campus for regional anesthesia exposure, Memorial Campus for OB exposure and Marlboro Hospital for community-based hospital exposure

Note: The Department of Anesthesiology requires visiting students upload an official copy of their Step 1 scores to (VSAS) to be considered for an elective.
