Psychosocial and Behavioral Interventions Dissemination Initiative

The UMass Psychosocial and Behavioral Interventions Dissemination Initiative (PBIDI) is an initiative of the UMass Department of Psychiatry’s, Center for Mental Health Services Research. Led by Drs. Douglas Ziedonis, MD, MPH, and Carl Fulwiler, MD, PhD, PIDI is charged with the objective:

To categorize, catalog, and disseminate psychosocial treatment approaches and organizational change interventions developed and implemented by UMass psychiatry department faculty.

Specific aims are to provide all faculty members with the opportunity to:

    • Increase the visibility of their work through web-based dissemination
    • Engage in collaborative efforts to further advance these works, through manual development and new implementation studies of these therapies
    • Support a quality initiative for clinical services by increasing awareness of innovative clinical tools and approaches for consideration of use in clinical programs
    • Participate in consultation services and training on therapy development, implementation, evaluation and dissemination

All past, ongoing, and upcoming work in psychosocial treatment/behavioral therapies development will be included in an online catalogue, and will specifically feature books, manuals, handbooks, fidelity measures, screening/assessment instruments, toolkits, and CDs/DVDs. Any UMass psychiatry faculty members interested in submitting their work, please submit the following to Makenzie.Tonelli@umassmed.edu:

    1. Title and brief description of the product
    2. Statement indicating (a) the status of the product/ its level of readiness for dissemination (e.g., complete; in progress; in final stages, but not ready for dissemination, etc.), and (b) your preferred method for dissemination via the webpage (e.g., link to downloadable PDF or website where the product can be purchased)
    3. Links to published articles/research to date that support these works
    4. Contact information and brief bio (or link to faculty page)
