UMASS Chan Medical School Psychiatry Residency Mission Statement
The mission of the Psychiatry Residency Program is to educate and train knowledgeable residents, informed in the broad range of neurobiological, psychotherapeutic, social, cultural, rehabilitative, and consultative perspectives across the lifespan. We are dedicated to the training of psychiatrists who serve their community by engaging in research and providing compassionate, person/family-driven, trauma-informed, recovery-focused, respectful care, and advocacy for those in need of mental health and addiction services in an inclusive, responsive and equitable environment.
The UMass Chan Department of Psychiatry is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful environment for its employees, leaders, and the communities we serve. Our diverse experiences, backgrounds, knowledge, and beliefs help us grow, innovate, and provide quality care to our patients.
