What is the problem/waste? Influx of patrons asking for directions to different areas of Lincoln St.

Idea: Took a map and updated with frequent locations so that we can better assist patients/employees coming in. Made copies to hand out and put in a central area.

What is the problem/waste? No way to search critical results by keyword

Idea: Develop a report to search for this information

What is the problem/waste? Patients can not see signage on ACC 4th floor for Nuc Med.

Idea: Submit innovation fund request for improved signage

NAME(S): Lisa West  Area: University - Mammography

What is the problem/waste? Unable to document hormones in EPIC for mammography studies

Idea: Worked with the EPIC team to get this added to the questionnaire.
This helps with the radiologists have the information they need when dictating.

NAME(S): Marcia Amaral   Area: Memorial Mammography

What is the problem/waste? Patients wanting evening hours for mammograms and we did not have the slots.

Idea: Extended evening hours on Tuesdays at Memorial and added in more slots to accommodate the demand and increase volume

What is the problem/waste?  No accountability to site due to rotating everywhere, things not getting done.

Idea: Updated the clerical schedule to a consistent schedule each week.
This will alleviate work being missed, supplies not ordered and will  help improve overall moral.

NAME(S): Univ Clerical Team  AREA: University Clerical - Scheduling

What is the problem/waste?  Patients not having labs drawn prior to procedures - Created delays and or cancellations on day of procedure.

Idea: Worked with Gina, LPN in IR to schedule patients for lab draws rather than have patients go to benedict building as a walk-in.  Ensures patients labs are drawn and reviewed prior to procedure.

NAME(S):  Kevin Reynolds   AREA: University Radiology Administration

What is the problem/waste?  Clinicians have too many clinical indications to choose from when ordering CT exams.

Idea: Develop "Most Common" list of structured indications by Physician Specialty (ED, Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, etc.). Eaxch group will be able to reach out to their designated Epic Analyst to have these appear based on log in department

NAME(S): Univ Clerical Team    AREA: University Clerical - Scheduling

What is the problem/waste?  Coverage needed in multiple areas due to increased volume.

Idea: Cross trained two scheduling ASR's to be able to cover in multiple areas - One additional in Nuclear Medicine and one additional in Neuro IR twice per week.

NAME(S): Liz Tollkuci  AREA: Hahnemann Diagnostic

What is the problem/waste?  Patients having difficulty getting up from bench because there is no handles.

Idea: Liz called facilities and asked if they had bars that we could put in our changing booths to assist patients with mobility challenges.
They came by and installed bars in the main changing areas to assist our patients.
This allows them to move easily from the seated position to standing.

NAME(S): Maria Forson    AREA: University Mammography

What is the problem/waste? Throwing out wipes containers

Idea: Instead of putting them in the trash, we are recycling them.
They are also being cleaned out to be utilized as storage.
