Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Psychopharmacologic Evaluations and Short-Term Treatment (age 4 years -adult)

  • Persons with ASD or other neurodevelopmental profile requiring diagnostic clarification and evaluation to inform treatment plans, and provision of individualized community resources

Fragile X Behavioral Health Clinic (all ages)

Jean Frazier, MD, Isha Jalnapurkar, MD, and other team members as needed

  • Persons with a diagnosis of Fragile X Syndrome and behavioral challenges
  • Provide diagnostic and psychopharmacologic consultations
  • Provide ongoing psychopharmacologic treatment as indicated

CANDO Bridging Clinic

The CANDO Bridging Clinic is an outpatient clinic that provides short-term medication management with a psychiatrist to help stabilize a child’s symptoms while working with their family to find longer-term community-based services. This clinic acts as a “bridge” to support families during this transition time, which lasts approximately four months. This clinic is for children ages 4 through 18 who received an initial evaluation from MCPAP or the UMass Pediatric Consultation/Liaison (C/L) Service.

Please Note: If there is a question of whether a child has an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) but has not been diagnosed, please make referral to Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in Benedict, University Hospital. Telephone: 774-442-3028.

Note:  All clinics partner with the youth’s Primary Care Provider to facilitate ongoing medication monitoring.

Self-Pay Services Are Now Available and Include:

•   Comprehensive Evaluation for Neurodevelopmental and Complex 
     Psychiatric
Disorders
       -  Second opinion/consultation for diagnostic clarification and treatment 
          recommendations
       -  Diagnoses, including autism and Fragile X, and complex psychiatric
          disorders, such as mood and psychotic disorders

CANDO Request for Services Form 

For your convenience, the link to the CANDO Request for Services form is provided below. The primary care physician or the referring provider must complete and Fax or Email the Request for Services form to CANDO. UMMH primary care physicians or referring provider should submit an ambulatory order to CANDO via EPIC.

Referring Provider: Please complete the Request for Services form and fax it to the CANDO office. 

Parents: Once your primary care physician or referring provider has sent the Request for Services form, the request will be evaluated by our clinical staff and, if appropriate, we will contact you to schedule an appointment. If not, we will follow-up with your primary care physician or referring provider with recommendations for a service that may better meet your needs.
