ScienceLIVE Modules Available for 2025–2026 School Year

 

6th grade:

Project BioEYES (exploring habitats, genetics, and the life cycle)


 In this week-long experiment, your students will:

  • Observe adult zebrafish and learn why they are used as a model organism by scientists.
  • Care for and study real zebrafish embryos up close to learn about the stages of development and genetic inheritance.
  • Visualize and receive guidance through the scientific process from our diverse practicing STEM professionals.

7th grade:

The Building Blocks of Life (exploring cell and molecular biology)

In this 45- minute classroom experiment, your students will:

  • Revisit the concepts of the characteristics of all living things, cells as the basic units of life, and the role of DNA.
  • Extract DNA from various foods and compare their results.
  • Discuss the real-life application of their class work.
  • Visualize and receive guidance through the scientific process from diverse practicing STEM professionals.

8th grade:

Doctor's Orders: Finish Your Antibiotics! (exploring cell and molecular biology)

In this 45- minute classroom experiment, your students will:

  • Model how microorganisms impact health.
  • Demonstracte the effect of mutations on bacterial resistance and the importance of completing antibiotic prescriptions.
  • Collect data, practice generating graphs, and interpret the results.
  • Visualize and receive guidance through the scientific process from diverse practicing STEM professionals.
