Education Specialist, Department of Medicine

Sara has worked at UMass Medical School for 10 years, starting out as the Medicine UME Coordinator, working with 3rd and 4th-year medical students. Her role as the Program Administrator for the Medicine Residency began in 2017, and also includes managing all of the UME & GME Internal Medicine education programs.

More About Me: I enjoy being part of the journey that learners experience all the way through medical school, residency and fellowship.

Prior to my time at UMass, I worked in Higher Education for 10 years, both in Residence Life and Academic Advising. I received my BA in Psychology from the University of San Diego and have my Master's degree in Social Psychology. I've worked at colleges & universities across the country, and as most of my family lives on the west coast - I try to visit the Pacific with my two daughters as often as I can!

Administrative Manager, Internal Medicine Residency

Mary joined UMass in the Internal Medicine Residency program in September 2011 as an Administrative Assistant and is currently the Administrative Manager.

More About Me:  I consider myself fortunate to work with such a supportive team as we strive to provide the best training possible for our diverse group of physicians.   Two of my favorite tasks at work include elective scheduling and the recruitment process.   Before UMass, I used my office management degree first in the computer telephony industry than at a small liberal arts college in the offices of the Vice President for Student Services and Vice President for Academic Administration.   I live in the oldest town in Worcester County and love to walk by the Nashua River, in a friend’s apple orchard or hayfields with my dog.  As a lifelong New England sports fan, I have been fortunate to watch them win in recent years - Go Patriots!  Away from work, I enjoy hiking, reading, and channeling my inner “Martha Stewart” by tackling projects around the house, preserving fresh produce, and baking for my family and the residents.

Administrative Coordinator, Internal Medicine Residency Education Program

Tina has worked at UMass Medical School for 7 years, starting out in the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education / Office of Student Affairs.  Prior to joining the Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2021, Tina was an Education Program Specialist where she support the courses for 1st and 2nd-year medical students.

More About Me: It has been a great opportunity to be able to work with the 1st and 2nd-year students on many different levels.  It gave me the chance to build great relationships with some students which have carried over into their residency years. Working in the IM residency program allows me to continue to watch the UMMS students grow into their own roles as doctors.

More About Me: I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to Massachusetts in 2015. I love it here and all that the east coast has to offer. When I am not working, I like to spend time with my three dogs, do karaoke, explore New England, bake cupcakes, travel, hang out with friends, and watch horror movies. I am also a singer (currently part of an all-women’s barbershop group) and a photographer.
