Special Days of Learning
Primary Care Retreat
Each spring, our Primary Care residents and faculty gather for a day of immersive learning in a subject we feel is critical to residents' training.
In the spring of 2023, we gathered at the Worcester Art Museum for a day dedicated to Lifestyle Medicine and the importance of physical activity. We were fortunate to have Dr. James Rippe share his expertise with us. We also participated in docent-led tours of the museum.
In the spring of 2024, we gathered at the Worcester Historical Museum for an inspiring day on Gender-Affirming Care. We had speakers from inside and outside the UMass Chan community who shared their expertise on Primary Care of Transgender Patients, Gender-affirming hormone treatment, Gender-affirming Voice Treatment, Health Care Disparities, and Researching Healthcare Quality for Transgender Patients. We were very fortunate to hear the very powerful stories of several transgender patients as well.
Primary Care Symposium
Each Spring, our Primary Care residents and faculty gather for a day of teaching each other. Each resident delivers a 30-minute topic presentation of their choice to their peers.
