Required/Core Electives

• Veteran’s Health (2 weeks in PGY1)
• Musculoskeletal Health (2 weeks in PGY2) 
• Neurology (2 weeks) 
• Palliative Care (1 week) 
• Addiction (1 week)

With the categorical residency switching to a 3+1+1 schedule, there will be more ambulatory electives required for all residents, including primary care residents, and built into the schedule. These could but are not limited to, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, ID, Renal, and Geriatrics. More to come on this exciting innovation!

Non-Required Electives 

Our primary care residents are encouraged to select electives of their choice during their non-required elective time. We recommend the following: Endocrinology/Diabetes, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Ophthalmology, HIV clinic, ENT, and experiences in Preoperative Medicine, and Travel Clinic. Many of these experiences can be arranged during Ambulatory weeks as well.
