Justine Cameron, MPP Justine joined Student Affairs in 2016. In her role, she oversees student activities, which includes event planning, financial management, and advertisement of events across the three schools. In addition, you can find her working on OSA events like Orientation and Match Day, managing the student handbook policy updates, directing the dual degree programs, and much more! She is also the web guru for many of our campus webpages, including OSA, Learning Communities, and Student Life. Justine enjoys camping and kayaking with her husband, as well as reading books/watching movies. She is on the board of directors for a local professional women's organization as well as her alma mater's Alumni Association. Carla Delacruz Davila, MSW Carla works to build community though advocacy, outreach, and wellness activities. She is an advocate and support for individual students, connecting them with resources for continued growth and personal development. Carla also organizes and facilitates various presentations for faculty, staff, and students related to wellness. Carla is a student of the Springfield College Master of Social Work program and will graduate May 2020. Carla enjoys volunteering and helping to make her community a better place. Mentoring and being a voice for the less fortunate, empowering women towards equal pay and overall fighting for what is right! ------ |

![]() Michele DeSeve Michele helps to coordinate Orientation for incoming School of Medicine students, Careers in Medicine classes, Match Day, Commencement, as well as other events, and student actvities for the School of Medicine. She finds great joy and reward in supporting the needs of our students and helping them achieve their goals. Michele is your first point of contact for scheduling student appointments with the ADSA. Michele has a passion for writing, formatting and proofreading, so if you need an extra pair of eyes or help “dressing things up,” Michele would be delighted to help with that too! Michele loves spending time with her family and adorable black Labrador Retriever, Winnie, or heading to a concert or the Adirondacks. ![]() Michael Ennis, MD Dr. Ennis has a strong interest in medical student career development. He is also the 2017 Recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Mentoring! Dr. Ennis is one of the founders of learning communities at UMass and he continues to serve as Co-Director of the Learning Communities Program. Mike has been the recipient of multiple teaching awards and was honored with Gold Foundation’s Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. He also serves as the faculty advisor to the UMass Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. ------ |

Maria Garcia, MD Dr. Garcia has a strong interest in working with medical students in the roles of advocacy, academic advancement and wellness. She works closely as faculty advisor with medical school student groups from diverse backgrounds. She also has an interest in diversity and inclusion programming for students partnering with the Diversity and Inclusion Office in these efforts. ------ |

Anne Garrison, MD Dr. Garrison joined the Student Affairs team in January 2021 as Assistant Dean for Professional Development. In March 2021, Anne was named Interim Associate Dean for Student Affairs, and was formally named Associate Dean for Student Affairs in October 2021. ------ |

Dr. Kedian works on making sure the systems are in place to help every student be academically successful. With the help of the medical school‘s research evaluation and assessment team, she tries to create linkages between our curriculum, our academic support systems, student affairs and our learning community mentors to identify any areas which need to be strengthened to promote academic success. ------ |

Debra Leger As a member of the Student Affairs team, Deb oversees advancement and promotion processes for all students. She ensures that your academic record is up to date with regard to enrollment status, collaborating closely with the Registrar’s Office and IT. Deb will help keep your schedule up to date in Peoplesoft, especially in years 3 and 4, adding/dropping electives, adding Away electives or Student Designed electives to your schedule. Your 4th year will be very busy, and Deb will help you with graduation tracking for enrollment requirements, ready your MSPE for upload to the AAMC, and certify you for Match Day. In her spare time, Deb enjoys the outdoors, gardening, and riding her horses. ------ |

![]() Ben Smith Ben joined the Student Affairs team in 2019 and is the campus resource for the Visiting Student Application Process, Background Investigations, Drug Screening and the annual regulatory compliance processes. Ben is also our team member in charge of the 3rd and 4th year lottery and site assignments for required rotations. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Ben enjoys exploring the splendor of what he affectionately refers to as “the natural playground that is Central MA”. On days when the weather isn’t cooperating, you might find Ben in his home kitchen, creating culinary delights. |
