CMS Upgrade
Our UMass Chan CMS upgrade is complete.
A new way of logging in
The login URL remains the same, but we have incorporated single sign-on (SSO) and multifactor authentication (MFA) to align with our existing security best practices.
- To log in, use your employee email address and password
- This now includes UMass Memorial editors as well!
- If you are already logged in to other UMass Chan applications, you will automatically be logged into the CMS.
A name change and updated editor interface
EPiServer is now Optimizely. EPiServer acquired Optimizely in October of 2020 and decided to change their name. With their name change came a rebranding of the CMS editing area with their version 12 release. Everything is in the same place, just a change in colors and icons.
Functionality - new membership area block
Along with our update to logins, we updated the way membership areas work. Editors can now:
- set up membership areas without putting in a request to IT
- add, update and remove member accounts
- reset passwords on member accounts
New architecture and a more robust infrastructure
What does that mean to you? Pages on our website will load a lot faster, which helps keep visitors engaged on the site and increases search engine optimization rankings.
Please contact the UMass Chan IT Helpdesk if you have any questions regarding this communication.
