Setup Email On Your Phone

Email On Your Phone Banner

Communicating is easier with your mail and contacts in the palm of your hand. Whether your phone is a personal phone, or UMMS provided, you can access your data on the go! Below you will find the different setup directions for popular devices. If you use an iPhone or Android device, we recommend you checkout the Outlook Mobile application linked below for the best experience.

Note: Most students and some staff members have been migrated to Office 365. The Outlook Mobile application should sign you in without setup using just your email and password. For help and other setup related to Office 365, click here.

Outlook Mobile Setup

The Outlook Mobile app is available for both iOS and Android devices. It provides the best way to access your UMMS email, contacts, and calendar on the go. It is also a great way to separate your personal life from your work life, as it does not merge your data together.

  1. Make sure that your phone is on the UMMS network
  2. Go to "Settings", scroll, and select "Accounts & Passwords"
  3. Under the "Accounts" header, choose "Add Account"
  4. Choose "Exchange" from the list provided
  5. You will be prompted for your Email and Description. Use your full email address and select something like UMMS for the description.
  6. After entering this info, click Next.
  7. At this point, your phone will prompt you for more information.
    • Email:
    • Server:
    • Domain: umassmed
    • Username: (this means your login name, not your full email address)

  8. Upon clicking Next after filling out this information, if you filled it out correctly, you should see little green check marks next to each one and be forwarded to a page asking you if you want to pull things like your contacts and calendar to our phone as well. Select whichever you want and select done.
