About the Department of Surgery DEI Task Force

We recognize that the profession of surgery exists within a society that has historically undervalued and discriminated against individuals of certain race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, (dis)ability and socioeconomic class. Our mission is to bring light to inequity, eliminate discriminatory practices, and proactively implement changes that will promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment.
