Clinical Student Evaluation Training for Preceptors and Residents

Evaluating medical students during the clerkship phase is a key activity for clinical preceptors and leaders. One of the major changes with the new Vista curriculum is the complete rebuilding of our longitudinal assessment system and our resultant new learning portfolios. We have developed Milestones that link to our long established physician competencies. All evaluations, both formative and summative, will be milestone-based. Understanding this scale and these instruments will be important for residents, preceptors and faculty.
