Tubanji Walubita, BA, PhD

Tubanji's PHARE Picture.jpgTubanji earned her BA in biology and gender, sexuality, and women’s studies from Lake Forest College. While at Lake Forest, Tubanji conducted research in the Richter Scholar Program, where she studied the relationships between plurilingualism, civic engagement, and historical literacy in an African context. As an undergraduate student, Tubanji was also accepted into the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science Summer Scholars Program, where she investigated the barriers that prevent pregnant women and mothers from accessing treatment for opioid use disorders. Tubanji’s current research interests include women’s health, maternal health, LGBTQ+ health, health disparities, and the weathering hypothesis.
