OUR MISSION
The PHARE Study group seeks to:
1) Describe burden of illness and understand factors that drive
the use of medications and health care services in vulnerable
populations;
2) Conduct rigorous pharmacoepidemiologic research to
advance understanding of beneficial and adverse effects
of medications in populations systematically excluded from
clinical trials;
3) Develop novel approaches leveraging large administrative data sources to understand the heterogeneity of
treatment effects in clinically complex patients;
4) Evaluate the extent to which advanced statistical methods reduce the impact of selection bias, confounding,
misclassification and missing data;
5) Translate and disseminate research findings to inform health care policy and practice, and
6) Educate, train, and mentor current and future scientists.
