Congratulations! By now, you should have received your official acceptance to UMass Chan Medical School's T.H. Chan School of Medicine via email. All admissions decisions are communicated to you by the T.H. Chan School of Medicine's Office of Admissions via email.
Please review the following requirements and recommendations for accepted applicants carefully.
Matriculation requirements, action items, and forms will be available within the PeopleSoft system under the Matriculation Requirements tile. You will be notified when the matriculation process and the requirements tile is available in PeopleSoft by the Registrar's Office around May 2025.
In conjunction with the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School (CYMS) tool, UMass Chan Medical School requires that all accepted applicants designate UMass Chan as the institution in which they ‘Plan to Enroll’ no later than April 30, 2025* and update their selection to ‘Commit to Enroll’ on or before July 15, 2025. Applicants who do not designate UMass Chan Medical School as their institution of choice (commit to enroll) by the July deadline may have their acceptance revoked.

Please note that your acceptance into the entering class is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of our prerequisite courses and of any coursework you undertake this academic year.
Final official transcripts are required from all schools/courses listed on your AMCAS application prior to matriculation. You must request final transcripts from your school(s) be sent to UMass Chan Medical School directly.

Blood Borne Pathogens Acknowledgement

For the safety of our students and patients, the UMass Chan Medical School has developed a policy regarding students infected with blood-borne pathogens.
As an accepted applicant, we require that you review and sign the Blood Borne Pathogen Policy Summary and Statement of Acknowledgment via the PeopleSoft portal as part of the matriculation process. You will be notified when the matriculation process is available in PeopleSoft by the Registrar's Office. The full policy will be sent upon request.
Criminal Background Check

Students are conditionally accepted, in part, pending a satisfactory Criminal Background Check (CBC). Certiphi Screening, Inc., a third party, will email you to request completion of the CBC, which includes your authorization. You will be asked to complete this process within 14 days of acceptance of our offer.
Financial Aid

Your acceptance letter denoted your residency classification as determined by the Office of Admissions. Please be sure to review the Financial Aid website carefully and complete the required Financial Aid Application Form. Check the Tuition and Fees for 2023-2024 to learn about the cost of attendance.
Financial Aid packages will start going out in early to mid-April and will be sent on a rolling basis per your acceptance offer date thereafter.
Housing Policy for Regional Tracks

For all students interested in the LEAD@Lahey or PURCH programs, please be aware that you will be required to commute to your regional campus in the Discovery and Exploration Phases of the curriculum. The Exploration Phase starts in mid-March of your MS2 year.
You will also be responsible for your own housing for your clerkships. Where you choose to live is your choice. Read more about options other students have used.

The Office of the Registrar will notify you of registration dates and details Components of the matriculation process include the Blood Borne Pathogen Acknowledgement form, final official transcripts, and the Student Health Clearance form, among others. Information regarding the start of classes and the academic calendar is posted on the Office of the Registrar webpage.
The Registrar will email you starting in May. From there, you will complete all matriculation forms in Peoplesoft.
MOE

Incoming first year students gather for a Massachusetts Outdoor Experience (MOE) hosted by second year students prior to the start of classes. Information regarding MOE is posted as plans are made and information becomes available.
All incoming students must complete the matriculation process in order to participate in MOE activities.

The AAMC administers the Matriculating Student Questionnaire (MSQ) annually to all first-year medical students. The 2024 MSQ will open in June 2024. This Web-based questionnaire asks first-year medical students to share their thoughts on a variety of topics.
UMass Chan and the T.H. Chan School of Medicine encourage our matriculating students to complete the survey.
Physical Diagnosis Equipment

UMass Chan prides itself on graduating physicians with strong clinical skills. Clinical skill training starts early in your first year in our Doctoring & Clinical Skills Course. There is no need for you to purchase any physical diagnosis equipment, as we will be providing you with a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, ophthalmoscope/otoscope, reflex hammer, tuning forks, penlight, and tape measure.
Student Health Clearance Form

The UMass Chan Medical School requires all students admitted to the T.H. Chan School of Medicine to complete the Student Health Clearance process prior to matriculation. Student health clearance is mandatory and must be completed and submitted to Student Health prior to the start of classes as part of the matriculation process. Non-compliance may result in revocation of the offer of admission. If you need a booster or follow-up you may communicate results as they become available but should submit the form as soon as possible.
Please be sure to complete and submit your form no later than one month prior to the start of classes. Details regarding your Student Health Clearance can be found in the PeopleSoft portal. You will be notified when the matriculation process is available in PeopleSoft by the Registrar's Office.
