Apurv Soni, Neil Marya, and Honghuang Lin Present at 2024 UMass Chan Media Fellowship

Apurv Soni, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Health Systems Science, Clinical Informatics Section, Neil Marya, MD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, and Honghuang Lin, PhD, professor of medicine in the Division of Health Systems Science, all co-directors in the Program in Digital Medicine, recently presented at the 2024 UMass Chan Media Fellowship in March. There, Drs. Soni, Marya, and Lin presented their work on artificial intelligence in health care. Sarah Willey, media relations director for UMass Chan, remarked that their “thoughtful and insightful presentation…captivated the audience and left a lasting impression on everyone present.” Further, feedback on their presentation was positive. “I learned so much in the vitiligo, mental health, and AI panels,” stated one of the fellowship participants. “I loved seeing that science presented (as opposed to learning through a phone interview) and I appreciate that they presented at a high level.”

Thirteen journalists participated in this year’s UMass Chan media fellowship.
