About Henry: I live in Providence, RI with my wife, Jisoo, a pulmonologist at Brown. When I'm not commuting, I enjoy hiking and art (particularly Zen calligraphy and photography). My artist portfolio can be found online at www.henrydelrosario.com/
I've made several trips to northern and southern China helping to teach family medicine to residents as well as establish a culture of primary care in Asia.
Why Hahnemann? I have a passion for medical education and the theory of teaching and so am excited to be part of the culture of learning at Hahnemann.
Why Family Medicine? The beauty of family medicine comes from seeing patients from birth to death, in the clinic and in the hospital, and multiple members of the same family. As a doctor you are privy to some of the most intimate, vulnerable, and beautiful aspects of human experience. I find that this variety is mentally fulfilling, fun, and sustainable. A wide spectrum may also bring in difficult situations or patients very different than you, but uncomfortableness stretches your heart muscle— and empathy is something we need more of in this world.

About UMass: My academic interests in curriculum development, learning theory, the science of education, and resident & medical student learning made UMass the perfect fit for me because our family medicine program places an emphasis on a high-quality rigorous well-rounded training perfectly balanced with learner support & wellbeing.
Personal Facts: I grew up in a suburb outside of Worcester and then went to the College of the Holy Cross right in Worcester. When I came back to Worcester for residency after leaving for four years to go to medical school in Boston, it felt like I was coming back home and it just made sense that I continued my career here after residency. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. We like being outdoors walking trails and hiking. We also love to travel and explore museums.
