Leslie Darcy, JD, MPA, is associate vice chancellor and chief of staff.Darcy joined UMass Chan Medical School in August 2026 from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services where she served as chief of the Office of Long-Term Services and Supports at MassHealth. In this role, she oversaw MassHealth's $7 billion long-term services and supports system, which serves more than 300,000 older adults and individuals with disabilities through a broad network of community- and institution-based programs.

Throughout her career, Darcy has built a reputation for leading complex organizations, fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders, and advancing strategic priorities that improve health and human services. She previously served as special advisor to the secretary and chief of staff at the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, advising on policy, budget and legislative initiatives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as the chief of staff in the Massachusetts COVID-19 Command Center, coordinating statewide response efforts across agencies. Earlier in her career, she served as assistant counsel to the Massachusetts Senate and as an assistant district attorney in the Bronx District Attorney's Office.

Darcy holds a master’s in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School, a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Illinois.
