Lee Leiber, MS, MBA, an information technology executive with more than 20 years of experience across academic, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations, is deputy executive vice chancellor and chief information officer at UMass Chan Medical School.

For eight years, Leiber served as chief information officer at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, a private, stand-alone health sciences university located in the Texas Medical Center. There, he led an IT organization of 200 full-time staff, directing IT strategy and operations across the institution’s clinical, academic, research and administrative functions.

Previously, he spent nine years at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) in Washington, D.C., where he held senior leadership roles as senior director of application development and senior director of enterprise technology.

Leiber’s career has been focused on developing and executing IT strategy that strengthens organizational performance, and he has worked extensively to introduce enterprise architecture, data and analytics capabilities, and cybersecurity improvements that advance institutional missions. He is deeply committed to fostering a culture of service excellence and building high-performing, motivated technology teams.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware, a master’s degree in information system technology management from George Washington University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
