With regular practice, meditation may also help improve quality of life, especially emotional and spiritual aspects, said Bei-Hung Chang, a researcher at the UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester who wasn’t involved in the guidelines.
“Meditation generally has low risks, and low costs,” Chang saidl. “Once learned, the technique can be practiced anytime and in any place, and integrated into one’s way of life.”
