Jerry Gurwitz Selected as Winner of the 2026 Health Care Systems Research Network Founders’ Award 

Jerry Gurwitz, MD, professor of medicine in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, was selected as a winner of the 2026 Health Care Systems Research Network (HCSRN) Founders’ Award. The award honors the original founders of the HCSRN and recognizes an active or recently retired awardee who best exemplifies the spirit of those early founders in their service and lasting contribution to the network. The original founders were visionary, creative, influential, persistent, committed, and productive in their efforts to establish what has become a wonderful legacy of a network in which many participate and benefit from. 

Dr. Gurwitz will accept the award at the HCSRN annual conference in Dallas, Texas, in April 2026 and will have the opportunity to address conference attendees during the awards presentation.
