Allan Walkey Featured in NEJM “Clinical Decisions” Publication
Allan Walkey, MD, MSc, professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Health Systems Science, recently published an article in the New England Journal of Medicine’s "Clinical Decisions" series outlining his evaluation of evidence informing the decision to initiate anticoagulation therapy for secondary atrial fibrillation that occurs during severe infections.
In the article titled, “Anticoagulation for Secondary Atrial Fibrillation,” a case vignette is provided that describes a patient with atrial fibrillation triggered by sepsis. Dr. Walkey and other authors then give an evaluation of the case followed by treatment options.
