November Resident Spotlight: Jorge Dabdoub, MD
In this month’s Resident Spotlight, we feature Jorge Dabdoub, MD, a third-year Internal Medicine Resident. We recently caught up with Dr. Dabdoub to learn more about his clinical and research interests, why he chose UMass Chan for residency, and his favorite things to do in New England!
Hometown?
Norwich, CT
What are your clinical and research interests?
I am interested in both hospital medicine and cardiology. I am going to continue my journey here at UMass as a hospitalist for at least two years before applying to a cardiology fellowship afterwards.
What makes UMass Chan a great place for your residency?
UMass Chan exposes you to a very diverse patient population, which provides residents with a broad range of clinical experiences across various socioeconomic, cultural, and medical backgrounds. The clinical experiences paired with the most supportive co-residents and administration make UMass Chan an amazing place not only to train but to stay after residency.
Favorite hobbies?
In my free time, I love to go on hikes in New Hampshire, try new restaurants around the area, and try new coffee shops. Fall hikes in New England are among the prettiest things. I hiked Mount Major recently and would strongly recommend it, 10/10.
Favorite thing to do in Worcester/Worcester area?
Try new coffee shops with my girlfriend; we have tried 20 coffee shops to date, and we have ranked them 1 through 20.
In your spare time, what TV show do you binge?
How I Met Your Mother, I have watched it like three times!
Favorite guilty pleasure snack?
Ice cream! Nothing better than a scoop of peanut butter Oreo ice cream at Gibby’s here in Worcester.
What topping does not belong on pizza?
Olives! Olives just don’t belong on anything. I think they taste gross.
