Taylor Seacor, MDApril Resident Spotlight: Taylor Seacor, MD 

 

In this month’s Resident Spotlight, we feature Taylor Seacor, MD, a third-year Internal Medicine Resident at UMass Chan. We recently caught up with Dr. Seacor to learn more about his clinical and research interests, why he chose UMass Chan for residency, and his favorite things to do around Worcester.  





Hometown?
 
Montville, CT  

What are your clinical and research interests? 
I’m interested in Gastroenterology and will be starting a fellowship in the summer. My research interests are primarily hepatology-focused, namely metabolic liver disease (i.e., MASLD, MASH).  

Are you involved in any other groups or activities at UMass Chan that you’d like to highlight? 
I am involved in hepatology research and financial literacy for the residents.  

What makes UMass Chan a great place for your residency?  
UMass Chan is a fantastic place to train for a variety of reasons. The hospital system has a significant catchment area, providing exposure to wide-ranging pathologies. Additionally, medicine residents rotate through multiple campuses and Milford Regional, allowing for experience in both academic and community settings. Above all, there are fantastic mentorship opportunities and peer/faculty support at UMass.  

Favorite hobbies? 
I enjoy hiking and snowboarding!

Favorite thing to do in Worcester/Worcester area? 
Trying new restaurants and walking my dog on the local trails. 

What was your favorite book as a child? 
The Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. 

Favorite holiday?  
Thanksgiving, because of the good eats! 

Favorite guilty pleasure snack? 
Ice cream!
