Members of the Department of Medicine Inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society 

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, UMass Chan Medical School inducted 56 members of the UMass Chan Medical School community into the Delta chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) Honor Society. Inductees from the Department of Medicine included Eric Alper, MD, professor of medicine in the Division of Health Systems Science, Melissa Fischer, MD, MEd, professor of medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Marianna Almpani, MD, second-year fellow in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, Anna Gubala, MD, second-year fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, William Morrison, MD, PGY3, and Ellen Murchie, MD, PGY3.
