Deepika Devuni to Serve as Director of Gastroenterology Fellowship Program 

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce that Deepika Devuni, MD, associate professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, has been appointed director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. She succeeds Krunal Patel, MD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, who previously served in the role. 

We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Patel for his outstanding leadership and dedication to the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program, first as Associate Program Director and subsequently as Program Director. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in expanding the program to four fellows per year, strengthening its educational mission and national competitiveness. He also worked closely with Dr. Krishnarao to help successfully establish the Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at UMass Chan. Dr. Patel’s commitment, vision, and mentorship have had a lasting impact on the growth and success of our training programs, and we thank him for his support.
