Samir Malkani, Michael Brehm, and Richard Haas Visit Type 1 Diabetes Campers at Barton Camp 

On July 29, 2026, Samir Malkani, MD, clinical chief and professor of medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, Michael Brehm, PhD, Co-Director of the Diabetes Center of Excellence at UMass Chan, and Richard Haas, MD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, visited Barton Camp in Oxford, Massachusetts, where they participated in dancing, singing, and dodgeball with campers with type 1 diabetes. The Barton Center for Diabetes Education Inc. hosts summer camps to empower children and their families with the knowledge and confidence to manage the daily challenges of diabetes and live fuller, healthier lives.
