Leslie Domalik to Retire After 35 Years of Care
Leslie Domalik, MD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, is retiring after a 35-year career devoted to diabetes care. Dr. Domalik joined UMass in 2010 and collaborated with Dr. David Harlan to launch the Blood Glucose Management Service (BGMS). Through their work, Dr. Domalik, along with Dr. Asem Ali, ultimately decreased the length of stay for patients with diabetes by 25%, while also boosting revenue by several million dollars.
Dr. Domalik also served as the Medical Director of Inpatient Diabetes Services, leading a team of endocrinology fellows and nurse practitioners to improve glucose control for hospitalized patients at both of UMass Memorial’s Worcester campuses.
We invite members of the department to join us in recognizing Dr. Domalik for her outstanding patient care and contributions to the department!
