Cores
The UMass Medical School IDDRC cores provide centralized, shared facilities and services to support cohesive, interdisciplinary research and research training.
Each IDDRC Core is designed to:
- Provides essential facilities or services for numerous federally funded research projects
- Has control systems to monitor and maintain high quality in its services or facilities
- Results in lower costs through centralization and economies of scale
- Increases the quality and productivity of research projects receiving core support

The cores are located and supported in a variety of locations and programs within the UMass Medical School, including the Brudnick Neuropsychiatric Research Institute, Commonwealth Medicine, and the Shriver Center.
