Bioethics Interest Group (BIG)
Bioethics Interest Group
Interested in talking about the innumerable ethical issues that healthcare providers face every day?
The Bioethics Interest Group (BIG) is a group of students who have a common interest in discussing the ethical ambiguities that every physician faces on a daily basis. We aim to meet a few times every semester to have casual student-led discussions on a variety of ethical issues that arise in medicine. We pick topics that are of interest to the members or that come to attention due to recent news coverage. Topics may range from organ transplant to end of life care to clinical research and many more. We host periodic film showings of relevant documentaries and have guest speakers to lead case-based discussions regarding various clinical scenarios they have encountered in their practice.
