Third and Fourth Year Teaching
Third Year
Flexible Professional Experience (FPE)
Available for UMass Chan medical students only. This course aligns with the Vista curriculum and aims to provide UMass Chan medical students with early opportunities for individual exploration in various clinical specialties. Third year UMass Chan medical students have the opportunity to take part in several Flexible Professional Experiences (FPEs). These are elective opportunities for students to experience various disciplines and specialties in between their traditional clinical clerkships. Whether they are learning about pathology as a career or simply interested in diversifying their clinical experience, the Department of Pathology offers a 1-week FPE in pathology (PathWeek!) This week can be spent as a general anatomic/surgical pathology experience, providing an overview of the core subspecialty areas, or can be tailored to student’s specific interest area. A general description of the Flexible Professional Experience is here:
