UMassMedNow published an article about the Shillelagh award Dr Mueller received last month from the Alpha-1 Foundation.

Our lab's work is mentioned, in particular the new mouse model we generated using CRISPR technology that is the first animal model of alpha-one antitrypsin deficiency lung disease, and will be extremely useful to the Alpha-1 research community.

"“We are delighted to honor these doctors who have helped to make the University of Massachusetts a leader in both research and care for the Alpha-1 community,” said Angela McBride, the foundation’s director of community outreach."
