 David McManusDavid McManus Named One of the Boston Business Journal’s Innovators in Healthcare for 2026 

David McManus, MD, ScM, the Richard M. Haidack Professor of Medicine, chair, and professor of medicine in the Department of Medicine, was named one of the Boston Business Journal’s (BBJ) Innovators in Healthcare for 2026 in the Executive Leadership category. Innovators in Healthcare is a program of the BBJ that recognizes innovators across multiple categories within the health care spectrum, from research to community health to leadership and more. Honorees were chosen from a large group of nominations from peers and leaders in the Boston business community. 

The BBJ describes Dr. McManus as being “at the helm of one of the largest clinical departments in the region, a leader who guides approximately 500 physicians and advanced practice providers across 16 divisions. While working as an executive, McManus is an active cardiologist, electrophysiologist, and researcher. One of McManus’s most stunning recent achievements is serving as the principal investigator for the NIH’s $123 million RADx grant, the largest research grant ever awarded to UMass Memorial Health.”
