David McManus Discusses Benefits of Proton Beam for Cancer Care with Worcester Telegram and Gazette
David McManus, MD, ScM, the Richard M. Haidack Professor of Medicine, chair, and professor of medicine in the Department of Medicine, was featured in an article in the Telegram and Gazette discussing the benefits of a $54 million proton beam for cancer care. On December 10, the state Public Health Council approved UMass Memorial Health Care's application to buy a proton beam and expand UMass Memorial's Cancer Center at Marlborough Hospital to offer proton therapy services.
