Dermatopathology Fellowship

Fellowship Description

UMass Chan Medical School offers a one-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship in dermatopathology. Our dermatopathology section processes more than 24,000 skin cases annually. The service provides routine histopathological diagnosis, immunohistochemistry studies, immunofluorescent studies, molecular studies, and consultations. We serve a large academic medical center with a dermatology clinic with close to 30,000 patient visits and performing more than 4,000 biopsies a year, and other clinicians including internists, rheumatologists, general surgeons, plastic surgeons, as well as oncology surgeons who take care of patients with skin lesions, benign and malignant. We also serve many community dermatology clinics throughout Massachusetts. The fellow will be expected to actively participate in clinical service, research and teaching activities in both the Pathology and Dermatology Departments.

Requirements: Applicants must be board eligible/certified in anatomic pathology or in dermatology and must have passed Step III of the USMLE.
