Areas of Interest and Research: Dr. Dykhouse's background is in primary care psychology and health psychology. She is particularly interested in the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate care and has experience working with interpreters as well as practicing directly in Spanish.

    Michael Smith, MS

Mike is a graduate of Bowdoin College and holds a master's degree in Communications from Clark University. A native of Peabody, MA, Mike was an undergraduate admissions officer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute prior to joining our residency in 2008. He is responsible for our annual resident selection process and manages the residencies' web/electronic communications. Mike is also a freelance writer for the Family Medicine Education Consortium. He resides near Worcester with his wife and their son and daughter. 

Cassindra Wamester
Program Administrator
Cassi has been working as a Residency Program Administrator for the UMass Chan Neurosurgery Program for the past 3 years prior to joining the Family Medicine Program in 2023. She is an avid hiker and biker, animal lover, intense book reader on anything and everything (have read over 100 books in 2022), camper and everything outdoors.

  Hilda Alers
Administrative Assistant
A New York native, Hilda was raised in Southbridge, MA. She worked most recently at UMass Memorial Hospital, Department of Surgical Oncology prior to joining our residency in 2019. Hilda received her Associate of Science degree, Business Administration, from Quinsigamond Community College in December, 2018. Hilda is a die-hard New England Patriots fan. Her hobbies include photography and reading. She is a dog lover, collects anything with elephants and enjoys spending time with her family.
